Hi, I’m Sarah.
Sarah Whipple

Student Intern
Who I am as a therapist:
I approach therapy as a collaborative experience where we work together to slow down and honor the experiences that brought you here. I see emotions as our guide that help us understand what matters most to us. I hope to support you in exploring these emotions with curiosity, so that together we can begin to replace self-criticism with self-compassion. I often utilize tools from evidence-based practices such as Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients observe their inner experiences and connect with the parts of themselves that have been hurt.
As a graduate intern in Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy, I believe that our lives are shaped by the relationships and systems we’re a part of. Our families, romantic relationships, communities and culture influence how we see ourselves and how we navigate the world. With an attachment perspective, and tools from Emotion-Focused Therapy, we can explore how your emotional experiences and relational patterns have shaped your life. Together, we can recognize the protective strategies you’ve developed, understand their purpose, and begin connecting with the strengths and resources you already carry. I offer therapy to individuals and couples at this time. I love working with everyone, but I have a special interest supporting individuals who are feeling overwhelmed with challenges in their relationship, anxiety, body image and self-esteem, and navigating faith transitions or recovering from religious trauma.
