Hi, I’m Emilee.
Emilee Herinckx, MA, LPC, LMFT
she/her
Licensed Marriage + Family Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Owner
As a therapist:
My work centers on relationships—whether between partners, family members, friends, or within yourself. I work with individuals and relationships to help navigate the complexities of connection, communication, and healing. I believe that all types of relationships—regardless of structure or constellation—can benefit from counseling. I am LGBTQIA+ and poly-affirming, with experience working with a wide range of relationship systems, including both monogamous and non-hierarchical dynamics.
I believe that our relationships are shaped by our personal histories, cultural identities, and the systems we live within. As a therapist, I aim to create a space that is both affirming and challenging: a place where growth can happen amidst compassion and connection.
I practice from a socially conscious lens, informed by Kenneth Hardy’s concept of the Location of Self. This means I actively reflect on my own cultural identity, power, and privilege, and how these influence my presence in the therapy room. I acknowledge that therapy occurs within systemic inequities, which impact mental health, relationships, and access to care. I work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach to dismantle body hierarchy and weight stigma.
Whether you're seeking support through a difficult season, wanting to deepen your relationships, or hoping to explore your personal identity more fully, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity and respect.
As a teacher and mentor:
I am an adjunct professor that thoroughly enjoys nerding out about all things therapy. I provide supervision to student interns and pre-licensed professionals.
